About Denver-Vail Orthopedics, P.C.
Our practice uses an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). An EMR means that all of your medical information is securely stored and is instantly accessible digitally using our office computer system. Federal Regulations known as HIPPA are in place to protect the integrity and confidentiality of your electronic medical data.
Here are some of the advantages of the EMR:
- Your chart is always available and cannot get lost or "temporarily misplaced"
- When you call us, we can immediately look up your personal and your medical information
- We use the EMR for prescribing medication. There is no need to worry anymore about the doctor's poor handwriting which might lead to the pharmacist dispensing the wrong medication or the wrong amount. Also, the EMR warns us about any medication allergies or drug interactions.
- All incoming reports such as operative reports, letters from other doctors, lab and X-ray results and more are scanned directly into the system
- You can go online to update your personal and medical information
Denver-Vail Orthopedics, P.C. has been an integral piece of local history since after World War II when Dr.’s Harry Hughes, Irv Hendryson, and Elmer Franz opened their doors on January 2, 1949. When the practice began, there were only 11 Orthopedic surgeons in the state of Colorado. The small practice grew and in the early1980’s, the surgeons began seeing patients in the Vail area on weekends. Soon Vail required full time surgeons to care for its sports-minded population. Two of the surgeons relocated to Vail and started their own practice. Dr. Hendryson left Colorado and eventually became the president of the American Medical Association.
By expanding the size and scope of their practice through the years, the physicians of Denver-Vail Orthopedics, P.C. have been able to better serve the increasing population of metro Denver, provide the sub specialization in the surgical arena and keep pace with changes in the healthcare industry. Today, there are ten Denver-Vail physicians who can meet your Orthopedic needs. Our surgeons specialize in a variety of general Orthopedic procedures including: minimally invasive spine surgery, artificial disc replacement, shoulder and knee arthroscopy, total joint replacement and reconstruction, sports medicine, and surgery of the elbow, hand, foot, ankle and spine. One physician specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation, EMG’s, spinal injections and non-surgical treatment of the neck and back.
